What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness has become a popular therapeutic tool, but what does it mean to live a mindful life? To be mindful means to be present in the moment. With modern technology providing us with entertainment at our fingertips, and with current national and global issues facing us, it is easy to find yourself distracted and overthinking. Mindfulness teaches how to stay focused in the present moment, it also allows us to understand causes to our negative feelings and beliefs, and with practice it allows us to stop negative thoughts before they can negatively impact our mood and behaviors.
